Sažetak
Internationalization of the retail trade today is a result of a retail enterprise's business strategy under the conditions of world trade globalization. Very important in the retail enterprise internationalization strategy is the expansion abroad using the same products and / or forms of business units as in the country of origin. The need for global expansion of retail traders in the world is determined by numerous factors. Expansion of the world's retail traders into less developed countries (e.g. into transition countries) is accompanied by both positive and negative consequences for the respective countries. Positive effects are the transfer of technical and technological achievements from one country into another and creation of additional competition forcing domicile retail traders into organizational, market, technical and technological restructuring and into the creation of concentrational and cooperational formations. Large foreign retail trade chains and the created cooperation and concentration formations of domestic retail trade can have a positive effect on the development of domestic production, consumption, tourism, etc. Negative effects would be in the further strengthening of additional competition to the already weak domestic production, in the decline of small entrepreneurs in the field of retail trade, and the like.
