Sažetak
Implementation of sport recreation activities in university curricula is an important issue considering its importance in creating a fully developed personality and its impact on participation in sport and physical activity during the entire life (Popeska et al., 2017). Based on WHO reports, period of adolescence (15-19 years) and the period of young adults (20-25 years) are the critical one in which there is remarkable drop of the physical activity and engagement with sports.Subject to this study are the students at first and second year of studies from Department of mathematics at the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek, Republic of Croatia. Considering the fact that PE curricula in higher education is realized in accordance with students interests and needs, aim of this study is possible gender differences in student’s preferences toward sport recreational activities. The differences between subsamples were tested using one-way ANOVA and chi-squared test.
