Sažetak
Do you recall the time when you looked at an x- ray of a child in your clinic which did not quite seem normal and were left wondering about the diagnosis? Metabolic bone diseases in children are such an area which often gets overlooked in clinical practice. We all deal with it on a day-to-day basis, but often possess only a working knowledge of the diseases. This lecture on metabolic bone diseases will help you bridge that gap and bring you up-to-date with the commonly encountered metabolic bone pathologies encountered in paediatric orthopaedics. It will be of interest to paediatricians, general orthopaedic surgeons in addition to paediatric orthopaedic surgeons. At the end, you would have learnt from the expert in the field, how to work up and manage a child with rickets, what is the current thinking on Osteogenesis Imperfecta and get updated on the less often encountered and very challenging Mucopolysaccharidosis.
