Sažetak
As we live in the time of climate crisis that directly effects nature, social and economic environment, it is our responsibility to act in a planned and thoughtful manner. More than ever EU need to harness all factors to turn this greatest global threat into an opportunity for better, more sustainable development. Keeping that in mind the vision of our Mission is that in a world of increasing and mutually reinforcing climate disruptions and socio- economic and environmental challenges, Mission will turn the urgent challenge of adapting to climate change into an opportunity to make Europe resilient, climate-prepared and just. This vision can be achieved through fulfilment of three objectives. We need to prepare Europe to deal with climate disruptions, to assist all citizens, communities and regions in better understanding, preparing for and managing climate risks. By 2030, all local units and regions will have access to climate risk profiles and enhanced early warning systems for all relevant risks, will have adopted climate risk management plans, and will have good community infrastructure and services. The second objective is to accelerate transformation to a climate resilient future, supporting 200 European communities and regions in co-creating a vision, innovation pathways, and developing solutions for transformative adaptation. This means that by 2030, 200 European communities and regions will have developed their own transformative vision, adaptation pathways, tested actionable solutions and conditions for societal transformations towards climate resilience. At the very top is to build deep resilience in the hundred deep demonstrations of resilience across Europe with emphasis on cross-border cooperation and cohesion.
