Sažetak
Tourism is an important branch of the economy in Croatia. Croatia is finally reappearing on world and European tourist markets following the drastic drop in tourist traffic that occurred between 1990 and 2000 as a result of the war activities conducted on Croatian territory, in the region and its subsequent repercussions. New circumstances have arisen. Tourism is seeking something more - primarily value for money, and Croatia has to adapt to the new demands. Alongside this, Croatian tourism is also faced with the challenges brought on by world and European economic globalization trends. For Croatia, this represents a great opportunity for progress, but it is a challenge as well - how to overcome the economic hardships, realize dynamic development, efficiently enter the globalization process and preserve national identity at the same time.
