Sažetak
Embracing Industry 4.0 and its technologies provides intensive process monitoring and data acquisition that enables simulation and prediction of process behaviour, thus improving the efficiency and utilisation of chemical reactions. In the future, additive manufacturing, combined with other technologies of Industry 4.0, will enable the production of small batches of customised reactors with complex designs. The paper discusses the potential of combining Information Technology (data acquisition) with Operational Technology (additive manufacturing) as a direction to achieve continuous, smart production of different types of chemical reactions which usually are conducted in time-consuming batch reactors.
