In the past two decades, halogen bonding has been investigated as a useful supramolecular interaction for design and synthesis of new materials in solid state chemistry and crystal engineering [1, 2]. Considering that the majority of the halogen-bonded cocrystals have been prepared with organic coformers, potential of metal-organic compounds to build halogen-bonded arhitectures attracted a considerable attention in last decade[3]. In this work, we have prepared two novel cobaloximes – [CoBr(Hdmg)2(3OHpy)] and [CoBr(Hdmg)2(4OHpy)] (where Hdmg is dimethylglyoximato ligand and OHpy is hydroxypyridine) to investigate the possibility of using these metal-organic units as building blocks in cocrystalisation with classical halogen bond donors – 1, 4-diiodotetrafluorobenzene (1, 4- ditfb) and 1, 4-dibromotetrafluorobenzene (1, 4- dbtfb). Single crystal X-ray diffraction reveals that obtained compounds differ by stoichiometry and the types of established halogen bonds. In some solids in interaction participates bromine atom coordinated to the metal center, while in other, in halogen bonding is included nonprotonated oxime oxygen atom.
