Sažetak
Designing sustainable buildings is important in terms of energy and in order to create a healthy indoor microclimate. It also implies designing quality equipment in harmony with anatomy and functioning of the human body. Long-term stays in the interior and sedentary lifestyle with reduced body activity contribute to many deformities and diseases. If we pay enough attention to prevention, there will be no need for treatment and physiotherapy later. The hypothesis is: "Quality planning and interior equipment design prevent diseases and the health and vitality of the human body is maintained." The mentioned hypothesis is a synonym for human sustainability. The time spent in all indoor activities must be of good quality, in a healthy environment with well adapted equipment. Sustainable design, together with all other factors, assumes the equipment of interior spaces in line with the maintenance of the human body healthy and vital. Therefore, the interior design should be approached analytically, in respect of designing the equipment, organizing sufficient communication space and the space for equipment use. Architects should cooperate with medical specialists and physiotherapists. Using their knowledge and experience, they can notice and point out "mistakes" in the equipment. They can use direct observation, analysis of relevant theoretical and empirical literature and statistical indicators. Together they also can think up a way to improve and innovate. Every investment in prevention reduces medical expenses of individuals, but also of society as a whole. Prevention creates a happier individual, but also a more satisfied society. Only a healthy person can fully enjoy life and be a good company to the people around him - that is the purpose and goal of man's sustainability.
