Sažetak
The southern Carpathian Basin, crossed by the rivers Sava, Drava and Danube with their tributaries, has always been an important communication route between Central and south- eastern Europe. This area was settled by Celtic communities in the second half of the 4th century BC. As they came in contact with the indigenous population, they caused the creation of new communities, including the one that is covered the most by archaeological finds and ancient historical sources: the Scordisci. When the southern Carpathian Basin entered into the Late Iron Age, characterized by the material legacy of the La Tène culture, cremation burial appeared together with the noticeable domination of new forms of weapons and items of costume and jewellery and the start of the serial production of pottery after the new technological model.
