Sažetak
The aim of the study was to assess the diagnostic value of transrectal ultrasonography (TRUS) in detecting the depth of tumour infiltration as well the involvement of lčimph nodes in the patients with rectal carcinoma diagnosted afther endoscopy and proven by examination of the biopsy speciments. TRUS was performed on 33 patients with rectal carcinoma prior to surgery. The results of this study indicate that TRUS is a useful procedure in the preoperative staging.
