Sažetak
After the Second World War Japanese consumers were faced with the products of bad quality. The American W. Edwards Deming was invited by the Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers to talk to the leading Japanese industrialists in 1950. Japanese producers increased the quality of their products by introducing his methods. Today the Japanese products, from cars to electronics are well-known all over the world by its high quality. The reason for this is total quality management (TQM). TQM has been used in Japan for more than 40 years but it is quite new in many countries.
