Sažetak
Low youth employment in the Republic of Croatia is partly a consequence of acquired competencies in the traditional education system that are not appropriate to the competencies needed to successfully perform activities in the workplace. This situation poses a challenge in order to increase the attractiveness and quality of VET education. In the first part of this paper, the legislation in Croatia in relation to the WBL is explained. The second part of the paper focuses on the legal regulations according to which chambers regulate the work of educational institutions and mentors from industry. In the final part the legal regulations that regulate cooperation between educational institutions and the economy in the Republic of Croatia are listed.
