Sažetak
The author discusses several notions of democracy and political culture. He asserts that a functioning representative democracy needs a socio-cultural embedding in a consolidated political community. On the bases of authors empirical research (data from a survey conducted by the Faculty of Political Science in Zagreb) the author analyses political cleavages in the Croatian society and ideological orientantions of voters in the 2016 parliamentary elections in Croatia.
