Sažetak
Since declaring coronavirus epidemic on March 11 Croatia has experienced different phases of dealing with the disease. Initially, wide- ranging restrictions have been introduced and were effective. By mid May the spread of covid- 19 has been halted. However, the relaxation of epidemiological measures since then has caused a return of the epidemic. Legitimacy of the crisis management institutions was tainted by their connection to the ruling party and their inequitable dealing with different categories of citizens. Due to a relative success in containing the pandemic in the first four months of coronavirus crisis the Croatian government received a political bonus in the electorate. In the early parliamentary election PM Plenković and the ruling party, HDZ, achieved a clear electoral victory.
