Sažetak
The main goal of this paper is to study and analyze the organizational structure of the financial sector in the utility company and point out the importance of the computerization between its departments and subdivisions by describing the manner in which it functions. Timely and correct information is the key factor in decision making process of the company’s management, and quality setup of the financial sector’s organizational structure together with the quality implemented information system is the basic prerequisite for obtaining such information. Hypothesis of this paper is the following: High quality information system within the financial sector enables the optimization of data processing and of the process of obtaining the information for decision making. The set hypothesis shall be confirmed with the realization of the following tasks: 1. Depicting the organizational structure of the financial sector 2. Depicting relations between departments and subdivisions in the accounting sector 3. Depicting the manner in which the information system functions in their interaction Computerization is one of the basic assumptions for the functioning of the financial sector. Information system eliminates the need for additional data processing of inputs that were already processed and it makes recording of these information in the financial records automatic. All this minimizes the possibility of error.
