Sažetak
The main objective of this paper is to study and analyze the organizational structure of a utility company, and point out how important it is to set organizational structure within the context of resolving the issues stemming from the increase in business volume during the tourist season. Utility companies in coastal towns face an increase in business volume during the tourist season. Tourist companies open their hotels and camps, and immigration of people is also present in private accommodation arrangements, in the form of apartment rental and visits to summer homes. The hypothesis of this paper is the following: Increase in the number of users during the tourist season requires organizational changes in the work of individual utility company departments, in order to provide constant and high quality service within that period. The set hypothesis shall be confirmed with the realization of the following tasks: 1. Definition of organization, organizational structure and company 2. Definition of the utility company 3. Utility company organizational structure chart 4. Scheme of issues that arise during the tourist season and the manner in which these are resolved Utility company "6. MAJ d.o.o." from Umag is legally obliged to provide constant and quality utility services. Above all, this includes waste disposal and management and wastewater collection and treatment. In a coastal town such as Umag, during the tourist season the number of users may increase up to five times compared to the number of users in the offseason. It is certain that problems arise during that period caused by the increase in the volume of work, and management is required to react by setting the organizational structure in a manner that would enable utility company departments to perform their work without interruptions.
