Sažetak
In this essay I argue that this story about a little prince, set in feudal times, has a strong humanist message which makes it widely relevant. It can be an excellent tool to teach children to think critically and act responsibly. I read it as an allegory about how power works in today’s society, but it can also be interpreted as a story about totalitarianism. It is a story about fear and how to cope with it, about the importance of truth and knowledge and the harmfulness of indoctrination in the times of post-truth. Moreover, the end of the story makes an excellent case for the significance of resistance - thinking individuals have to act in the face of the manipulated, non-thinking mass. These subjects are widely applicable today.
