Sažetak
Passive data collecting tools are designed primarily for specific tasks such as traffic accounting, auditing and network monitoring. ATMMon software suit originated from CoralReef program package and has been developed because of the need for continuous tracking of network load and security. This software suit is applicable only for 155Mbps ATM networks. ATMMon enables continuous network monitoring, data storing into specially designed database and later auditing and analyzing of stored data. ATMMon is flexible and modular software suit that contains libraries, device drivers, database and applications written in, and for use with, several programming languages. In a detailed description of ATMMon we&#8217 ; ; ll show the ways and methods for solving the problem of parallel centralized monitoring of several network nodes, work distribution among computers and later analysis of collected data. Beside this we&#8217 ; ; ll describe problems of sharing resources that are necessary for every day work of ATMMon.
