Sažetak
In this contribution, an overview of a structure of doctoral dissertation titled: “Students’ competencies relating to functions from the perspective of mathematical proficiency” is given. The introduction chapter deals with a gap this research would fill, regarding students understanding of quadratic function concept, and function concept in general. Then, mathematical proficiency framework is presented along with opportunities it offers and shortcomings this research is addressing. Three research questions are presented as well as planed methodology. This contribution ends with presentation of accomplished and following steps.
