Sažetak
Due to a rapid growth of need in broadband communications, powerline is considered as a potential communication media. It has been demonstrated that the powerline is suitable for high data rate communications by using OFDM in high frequency band (> 0.5 MHz). However, the usage of a high frequency band makes the system more sensitive to the structure of the power grid. Work in [1] has shown that the powerline has fatal attenuation and phase distortion in high frequency band. This paper presents a novel algorithm for blind signal separation of the multiple-input-single-output system (MISO) in residential powerline network using a low frequency band (< 500 kHz). The algorithm is capable of transmission at raw bit rate up to 1 Mbps per individual transmitter or source. This can be achieved by using bandwidth efficient ASK-like modulation scheme combining with the Finite Alphabet (FA) property of binary signals and the Loading Impedance (LI) technique that allows the received signal to be blindly separated. By applying the underdetermined blind signal separation (uBSS) algorithm, the complexity of information addressing and multiplexing can be reduced.
