Sažetak
Researchers from the Scientific Department for Migration and Demographic Research of the Institute for Migration and Ethnic Studies prepared a document Pandemic and Migration in which they review the changes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in the field of migration and methods of managing and controlling epidemic diseases applied throughout the history. After the introduction, the second chapter of the document deals with the topic of pandemics and migration from a historical perspective providing an analysis of public health protection measures aimed at combating epidemics and establishing sanitary cordons. The third chapter is focused on the COVID-19 pandemic and migration, especially on the labour and forced migration, and to the presentation of the socio- demographic characteristics of the population at risk of COVID-19. The fourth chapter discusses the emergence of xenophobia, discrimination and nationalism in Europe and the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
