Sažetak
This paper deals with the load capacity of high contact ratio (HCR) external involute spur gears with theoretically accurate profile in comparison with the standard external involute gears. First, tooth root and Hertzian stress for a HCR- and standard gear pairs are calculated according to DIN 3990 and then compared. Then, based on teeth elastic deformations, a more realistic load distribution on meshing teeth for the HCR-gears is calculated. The influence of this load distribution on tooth root and Hertzian stress is investigated as well and then compared with the DIN 3990 calculation. The calculation results show significant increase of load capacity in HCR spur gears in comparison with standard ones.
