Sažetak
Rb1 pathway is generally implicated in proliferation, apoptosis and differentiation of cells, more specifically, replicative senescence acquisity. At the third trimester of pregnancy in mice, Rb1 protein product and one of its phosphorylated forms (Ser780) have a role in self- renewal of germ-line stem cells but not in proliferation and terminal differentiation, as in somatic cells. The pRB protein controls the G1/S phase transition and its hypophosphorylated form, supresses the cell cycle progression, inactivating E2F family transcription factors (TFs). Archive human fetal testes were collected and immunohistochemically stained using anti-RB, anti- pRB antibody and PCNA. The samples used are from the late pregnancy (21st, 22nd and 30th week). PCNA and phospho-Rb expression diminishes from the 21st to the 30th week and is found mostly within the tubules, while pRb expression is more present towards the end of pregnancy. Dynamic changes in protein expression during late pregnancy how that pRb may be a key cell cycle regulator that takes part in the maturation of cells in the testis in utero. Parallel pRb1 and PCNA expression show the progression of cell maturation at the third trimester of pregnancy.
