Sažetak
The whole genome sequencing of streptomycetes revealed a remarkable number of silent gene clusters thus emphasizing their capacity to produce novel biologically active small molecules. Regulatory networks in Streptomyces are highly complex but very important for studying since they play a critical role in antibiotic production and discovery.
