Sažetak
In recent years, study on automatic navigation of ships has been progressing. The level of automation can be divided into several levels, from those that assist manned navigators by providing information for maneuvering, to those that are completely unmanned. This should be done step by step, solving technical and legal issues. Our research aims to develop a procedure for automatically maneuvering with collision avoidance based on the surrounding information for targets of ships, which is important for automating maneuvering. For this purpose, we propose a new concept, CAP (Collision Avoidance Polygon). In this paper, we describe the method of generating CAP, the procedure for generating safety routes to avoid collision, and the development of a simulation environment for its evaluation. By using this concept of CAP, a route avoiding collisions can be generated with simple procedures without employing complicated mechanisms such as AI (Artificial Intelligence).
