Sažetak
The paper deals with a deterministic-stochastic modelling of the main lobe direction for a glide path antenna used in the instrument landing system (ILS) defining the path necessary for safe landing of an aircraft in conditions of limited visibility. The presence of a snow layer changes the signal reflected from the interface thus reshaping an original electromagnetic signal above an interface. Deterministic model for the assessment of the radiation pattern of glide path antenna is based on the coupled set of Pocklington integro-differential equations and field integral formulas to determine currents along the wires and related radiated field, respectively. The currents and related fields are obtained by the use of corresponding numerical procedures based on the boundary element formalism. Stochastic collocation (SC) approach is applied to quantify the influence of the snow electrical parameters to the variations of the maximal radiation angle. Some illustrative numerical results are given in the paper.
