Sažetak
In recent years, there has been increasing talk of IoT technologies that should make everyday life easier. IoT is still tied to an extremely small location, such as home or building, while integration with global services is poorly represented. This project wants to change this by linking many micro- locations into one unit, which would generate economic savings and contribute to environmental protection. This paper aims to present technologies that will be introduced on the island of Unije in the next year or two and will later serve as the basis for the creation of an investment planning platform. Such a platform should provide support to all stakeholders and give them insight into the cost-effectiveness and feasibility of investing when deploying a new IoT system in a new area. Some research conducted in Croatia shows that most of Croatia's inhabited islands have sufficient resources to meet their energy needs, mainly from renewable energy sources. The long-term goal of this project is to achieve energy self-sustainability and to develop remote areas.
