Sažetak
The national food consumption survey in Croatia was conducted from autumn 2011 to summer 2012. The survey was based on a methodology specified in the EFSA Guidance, ‘General principles for the collection of national food consumption data in the view of a pan-European dietary survey’. The survey was conducted on a representative sample of adult population (18-64 years) in total of 2000 participants. Individuals were selected from Census 2001. The method used was 24-hour recall by face-to face interview at participant’s home for two non-consecutive days and one day of weekend. The field work was subcontracted, but training of interviewer was done by the Croatian Food agency. Used databases (recipe database, nutritional composition, etc.) were created afterwards by national experts from two Universities, and they were incorporated in the developed software for the analysis of the collected data. A pilot study was conducted before the main field work in order to adjust the used methodology.
