Sažetak
The new Law on arbitration introduced significant novelties into the Croatian arbitration law. The novelties concerning the arbitration agreement attempt to adapt the formal requirements for the validity of arbitration agreements to the needs of contemporary international business practice. As a main result the "classic" written form requirement is significantly softened. In addition the rules on the arbitration agreement in consumer contracts and in the charter-party, on the capacity of the parties to conclude arbitration agreement and on the power of attorney for conclusion of arbitration agreement are specifically forseen.
