Sažetak
The paper presents the idea of solving Osijek&#8217 ; ; ; s University critical problems in housing students and professors by accomodating them in Tvrđa. The idea is based both on the need to conserve Tvrđa&#8217 ; ; ; s unique architectural heritage as well as on a continuous lack of student accomodation in Osijek. Introducing a limited student population to Tvrdja would uphold the continuity of its slowly diminishing everyday life while producing new ways of financing its regeneration. It would also apply principles of sustainable development through saving built environement, land and energy that would otherwise be destroyed in the process of constructing a planned large new student dormitory in Osijek. A model of evaluating residential objects in Tvrdja according to their possible use in housing university students is presented as well as an approximate spatial and financial analysis of a partial reconstruction of several of the chosen houses.
