Sažetak
Tilocca, Costanzo and Roncada (Chapter 5) report about strengths and drawbacks of each of the omics disciplines through a step-wize analysis of foods, ranging from sampling until the bioinformatic data analysis. In this first chapter, we try to give some kind of integrative outlook of the developments on this field. We also intend to show the way how these achievements can be applied for fast and reliable detection of food pathogens, their toxins in food, as well as other contaminations and adulterations that are discussed in this book. And, we dare to stress, we are discussing how a kind of “schism” between different directions at this field can be overbridged, and how the integrated knowledge at this field can be optimally used.
