Sažetak
I introduced the 14C method and also Radiocarbon Laboratory of the Ruđer Bošković Institute (RBI), Zagreb, Croatia, which celebrated 50th anniversary (Annex 2, pdf of the lecture). The lecture was followed by interesting discussion and numerous questions from the audience concerning various aspects of radiocarbon dating (sampling and sample handling in the field, what can we learn from dating paleo-soils or volcano ashes, what does the radiocarbon age means and how to interpret it, what are the limitations of the 14C method, why do we in Zagreb have implemented different techniques, do all the implemented technique give the same/comparable results).
