Sažetak
Observation of the problems of underachievement children has discerned some factors that originate in the family. Our scientific project: Pedagogical aspects of teachers' work with underachievement children, investigated a significant number of features relating to the child and his family. The purpose of the study was to help teachers cope with some difficulties resulting from the complex situations in which children can find themselves. The survey was conducted on a probability sample of 2044 elementary school third and fourth grade children. The following parameters were investigated: failure at school, social status, self-perception, absenteeism, punishment in school, children's fear of parents, parents' treatment of children, structure and socio-economic status of the family. In addition to the profile of vulnerable children the profile of risk family is introduced in order to point to the teacher the possible sources of failure and other educational or psychological problems of a child at school.
