Sažetak
European education systems are facing a variety of challenges, which drive the creation of innovative education models and the establishment of supporting and competitive infrastructure. Tremendous changes in economic, social, and technological spheres pose challenges for education. A significant impact factor can be found in digital technologies whose role is twofold: digital technologies as educational content in curricula and as an instrument for the transformation of learning and teaching. In this chapter, the authors discuss education systems and their digital transformation with particular focus on how digital technologies are integrated. The authors explore aspects and challenges relating to the digital transformation of education systems and educational institutions (EIs) and illustrate the implementation process of digital technologies as an integral part of digital transformation.
