Sažetak
Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) characteristics are today among the most important criteria for estimation of project and technological solutions quality of any technical system. A study regarding the application of this characteristics revealed that in the aircraft, space and nuclear industry, as well as in some other industries, the employment of RAM data has been a crucial element in design and in operation of equipment and systems. The same study, however, revealed also a complete lack of utilization of RAM data within the shipbuilding and shipping industry. The current shipyard design practice is not based on the life-cycle view and has no formal link to the operational experience. In the last few years, mainly because of the development of user-oriented information systems, the development of Internet, simplification of communication and, generally, because of the increasing interest for the optimization of the design and maintenance of the ship machinery systems, the idea of the collection and distribution of the ship machinery components RAM data gained more importance. Today, one of the key tasks is to define standard methods for the collection and distribution of the ship machinery system components RAM data. Such methods, integrated in an overall information system, could facilitate the introduction of the design and maintenance methods based on reliability, with the aim of finding project solutions which will minimize the initial costs and maintenance cost function, still maintaining the safety of ship machinery system on a required level. This paper presents the method of collecting the failure and maintenance data of ship machinery system components necessary for the assessment of the component RAM data. The conceptual database model is suggested, and on the basis of this database model, an information system for the calculation of the reliability, maintainability and availability characteristic on the component level is developed.
