Sažetak
We present a flexible framework for production and delivery of facial animation (FA). The goal of this framework is to be able to support a wide area of applications involving FA on a broad range of platforms, in particular (but not limited to) the Web and mobile platforms. This goal is achieved through the connectivity of all tools within the framework using standards, and through the portability of the end-user content delivery component. The framework consists of (1) a lightweitht, portable, MPEG-4 compatible Facial Animation Player, (2) a system for fast automatic production of ready-to-animate, MPEG-4 compatible face models, including the Facial Motion Cloning method for automatic copying of morph targets from one face to another and (3) a plethora of MPEG-4 compatible tools for Facial Animation content production. We believe that this kind of approach offers enough flexibility to rapidly adapt to a broad range of applications involving facial animation on various platforms. We present the framework, the components that are specific to it, and the integration of other standard components as well as their comparative overview. We believe that this kind of framework can satisfy a broad range of application classes and delivery platforms, ranging from interactive services on the Web and mobile platforms all the way to games, film and TV productions.
