Sažetak
The Primary Health Care should be in the programme of addiction control and so it was decided that the database has to be deposed there. A special questionnaire has been designed and gathering of data began. The sources for data have been: Center for Dependence, Clinical Hospital "Dr.M.Stojanovič" Primary Health Care has its own register, Department for drugs. of the City Police and Center for Social Care of the Commune. In order to be able to offer a better treatment of such addicts an experimental programme in one of the Zagreb communities - Novi Zagreb, with about 160.000 inhabitants is organized. Some findings we will mention here: The Medical and Social Service discovered only 8% of the addicts younger than 19 years. The most of them are in the age from 20 to 29 years (approx. 50%). Male population prevails (53%). The biggest number of treated addicts live with their primary families that either do not function or are destroyed. Concerning the professional qualification approx. 50% of them have no full secondary school. Most of them have no job, 63% are single and 11% were divorced. 35% of them use heroin. One third are polynarcotic addicts, . The rest use "pure", "pep pill" users and"sniffers". Report of tested for HIV 1989. in Croatia is: Homo and bisex. tested 9, HIV +3, Heterosex. tested 1681, HIV+ 1, Drug addicts, tested 118, HIV +1, Haemophylics tested 4o, HIV+ 2, Dyalising, tested 321 HIV+ o, Newborns (mothersHIV+) tested 6, HIV+o, Others tested 2o3o, HIV+o. In Zagreb, Croatia prevention of HIV infection started early, before appearing HIV posit. infection in drug addict groups. In last three years hospitalized patients have no seropositive tests. Also outpatient treated drug addicted-no one is HIV+during last two years. In Novi Zagreb exists Program for prevention in schools and famillies. Training for teachers is organized. The'goal is-young. apstinents of drug, tobacco and alcohol. They are educated for Skills of healthy living as well as for self-care and self-aid, they are stimulated to mutual aid. The duty of school is to affirm the consciousness of young people for the need of healthy style of life and ecological approach to life. Parents should be educated for better performance of their parental duties.
