Sažetak
The invention refers to an electromechanical transmission of power and motion that enables the optimal operation of a driving electric motor for its maximum efficiency. The transmission consists of a planetary gear train (PGT) with three external shafts, two motors, (M1) and (M2), and the possible mechanical transmission (GT) connecting the output shaft (Sout) of planetary gear train with an automobile wheels, over the final drive and differential. The rest two shafts of planetary gear train, (SM1) and (SM2) are its input shafts connected to motors and fed by energy/power source (BAT) via the current converter (CC). For this design, the speed of one, e.g. (M1), is independent of the planetary gear train output shaft speed, i.e. of the vehicle speed, as long as the speed of the other motor (M2) runs in accordance with the kinematic law of planetary gear train. Thus in drive, from the signals received from accelerator pedal position and other sensors, and for the equations of planetary gear train (PGT) kinematics, motor (M1) optimal operation line, and equation relating the motor (M1) optimal speed and required wheels’ power – previously obtained off-line and embedded into the control system – the control system calculates the required wheels’ power and optimal motor speed, and forces the motors to run at the speeds calculated, which results in the required vehicle speed.
