Sažetak
The Euganean Geothermal Field, located in central Veneto region, is one of the most important thermal field in northern Italy. This work aims to update the conceptual model of the Euganean Geothermal System since the available model does not conform with the most recent regional structural setting. The thermal system extends for approximately 80 km from the Veneto Pre-Alps to the central part of the Veneto alluvial plain and the thermal water circulation is favoured by the regional Schio-Vicenza fault and its highly permeable damage zone. This model was validated using bidimensional fluid-flow and heat-transport numerical simulations. Since a detailed parametrization of the hydrogeological and thermal properties of the hydrostratigraphic units is lacking, a sensitivity analysis on these parameters was performed. The best simulation showed an increased temperature of 70-80°C in the subsurface of the thermal field reproducing the experimental data. This result corroborates the physical validity of the proposed conceptual model.
