Sažetak
It is well known that perception depends upon body effort, while attention toward body moments may help or deteriorate a performance, depending on the complexity of the task. Thus, the aim of this research was to investigate the effect of body position and body awareness on the duration and complexity of dancers’ dance moves. The sample comprised 41 female dancers aged between 18 and 41 (M= 24.41 years), with an average duration of dance practice of 8.06 years (TR = 1 – 19 years). The dance pose resulted in estimation of longer duration and higher complexity of dance moves than the sitting pose, while body awareness did not affect the perception of dance moves duration. Furthermore, the results showed that body awareness and embodiment interaction both effect dance moves complexity perception. Body awareness in the sitting pose resulted in lower complexity perception of dance moves, while the effect was not shown in the dance position. The situational and task dependence of the body awareness effect on skilled performance was discussed.
