Sažetak
This thesis investigates the process of priming and its effects on word associations. A word association test is used in an attempt to show that the choice of a certain word out of one’s mental lexicon is highly dependent on their knowledge of the world and their life experience. The participants in the research are native speakers of Croatian and non-native speakers of fluent English who had to provide information on their education, profession, hobbies and other activities in order to see whether their life experience and interests influence their mental representations and in what way.
