Sažetak
Criminality of women is very important research topic that haven't been described in full. The purpose of this paper is an overview and analysis of Croatian official data on the frequency of adult female offending, structure of the female crime, gender structure of criminal justie agencies and scientific interest for female crime in Croatia. Four research questions were set up. The first research question refers to a visibility of females in official data of crime in Croatia. Analysis of official sources shows that women are becoming more visible in official crime data. The second research question deals with changes in frequency and structure of female crime in Croatia in the period from 1998 to 2018. General data about share of women in total crime in Croatia in the period from 1998 to 2018 show that the share of women does not exceeds 19%, and for total number of convicted persons 13%. In the period from 1998 to 2018 adult women were dominantly convicted for property crimes. There are changes in trends for some types of criminal offences. The analysis of the gender structure of criminal justice agencies (third research question) confim the notion of the feminisation of the criminal justice system. Limited analysis of Croatian scientific interest for womens' crime (fourth research question) show lack of comprehensive interest for this topic.
