Sažetak
Our team represents a multidisciplinary synthesis of professionals from higher education (Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences) as well as nongovernmental sector (Croatian Association on Early Childhood Intervention). For years we have been trying to fill the gaps in the field of early assessment and support for children with disabilities and their families all around Croatia. In this lecture, participants will learn: • Key principles of early intervention often neglected when providing support to small children with risk of developmental disabilities • Why it is important to include both the child and the family in the early support system • Examples how to connect different systems (f.e. health, social welfare, education) which are usually disconnected and contribute to chaos in a life of a family seeking for support • How important it is to provide, support and disseminate knowledge about evidence-based practice
