Sažetak
Rapid advancement of ICT make difficult the long-term generalizations research findings in CALL (computer-assisted language learning) related to specific examples of technology use (Beatty, 2013). The emergence of a vast number of Web 2.0 tools over the last decade has initiated extensive review of their use in CALL settings (Golonka et al., 2014). In hybrid language instruction insufficient attention has been given to the students' perceptions of online tasks and their usefulness for developing different skills with regards to various online tools used (Bueno-Alastuey, M. C., & López Pérez, 2014). The present study aims to fill this research gap in the existing CALL literature by exploring the potential of Web 2.0 technologies in developing grammar skills in a hybrid setting within the socio-constructivist paradigm. It focuses on the students’ evaluation of collaborative grammar activities (e-tivities) conducted in an undergraduate English for Information Technology course. These online activities were supported by the use of a wiki and several Web 2.0 tools to create multimedia artifacts covering grammar topics. The questionnaire developed for the assessment of students' perceptions was administered at the end of the course. This paper presents the measurement scales for particular tasks/tools used in the grammar e-tivities and addresses the following research questions: (1) Are there differences in students’ evaluation of individual e-tivities conducted in each of the two cohorts? (2) Do the students’ experiences using individual tools correspond to their perception of respective language tasks? The findings from a study conducted on two generations of students indicate an overall positive attitude toward all the e-tivities and tools used. Also, students’ evaluation of the tasks was positively correlated with their perception of respective Web 2.0 tools. The obtained results are valuable for designing and evaluating similar online activities in hybrid CALL settings.
