Sažetak
Stone hardness is an important factor which strongly affects machinability and overall quality of the stone machining processes. Identification of such heterogeneous materials in order to establish matching cutting parameters often requires a large number of micro-hardness measurements to be taken. Existing hardness measurement devices are costly and limited in terms of small working area. Hence, they and are not well suited for large number of measurements. This paper presents the prototype of low-cost hardness measurement device designed to overcome those disadvantages. Prototype was tested on two different stone materials with known hardness. Obtained results show that the prototype can be used to obtain reliable results.
