Sažetak
The article deals with use of reinforced soil in geotechnical engineering, presents state of practice in testing relevant properties of the composite material and principles used in numerical analyses of the reinforced soil structures. Some interesting cases of testing results from literature are presented, confronting some theoretical solutions. Basic principles of numerical modelling of the reinforced soil in road structures and slope stabilisation and soil supporting structures are described. Some new ideas in reinforced soil testing are presented, in connection of the pullout testing, showing new possibilities in characterising soil properties around reinforcement and enabling better future modelling of structures using soil reinforcement.
