Sažetak
During epidural anesthesia, vasodilatation in lower extremities and compensatory vasoconstriction in the upper extremities occur. Inaccurate readings from the oximeter applied to the finger can occur if blood flow decreases in the area of measurement. A study was undertaken to determine whether these alterations in flow affect the quality of temperature and pulse oximeter readings.
