Sažetak
The reasons for the increase the silicon content in steel during processing in a LF the low-silicon steel at PJSC “DMK” were analyzed. It was found that the increase of silicon content in steel after treatment in the LF is caused by both the aluminothermic reduction of SiO2 from slag during the deoxidization of steel with aluminum and carbothermic reduction of SiO2 in the electric arc zone by the carbon of graphite electrode during prolonged heating of the metal.
