Sažetak
One of the main causes of reinforced concrete deterioration is the steel corrosion. Consequently, development of accurate corrosion determination methods is of the greatest importance. The deterioration of reinforced concrete structures is connected with enormous costs, and a corrosion monitoring is becoming important for the maintenance scheduling and life prediction purposes. Traditional methods, such as a visual observation, are mostly subjective and provide corrosion detection only after the significant corrosion occurs. Development of new, accurate testing methods tends to reduce the price of concrete structures repair. This paper describes the most recent non-electrochemical non-destructive techniques for the corrosion monitoring of the condition of reinforced concrete structures. To avoid wrong interpretations of measuring results, it is recommended to combine several non-destructive testing methods before assuming any conclusions about reinforcement steel corrosion.
