Sažetak
The analysis of palmar dermatoglyphic traits was carried out in 90 patients with ankylosing spondylitis (68 males ans 22 females) applying topological classification. The data on patients were compared to the data on two control groups , one including 167 males and 178 females and other including 110 males and 94 females. In males with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) a significantly higher frequency of loops I and II and triradii "e" and "t" along with a reduced frequency of the loop H and triradius t-b were found as compared to both control groups. In females with AS a significantly higher frequency of the loop II was found. The dermatoglyphics traits showing a significant correlation with AS can be used in assessment of relative risk for AS in family members with positive family history with respect to this disease.
